As of 1970, it has only been 50 years since we all graduated. Due to the pandemic and based on your input, we delayed the reunion until October 21 and 22, 2022. We will kickoff with a casual reception on Friday, October 21st, 6:00-9:00PM, a tour of our historic school on Saturday morning October 22nd at 11:00AM, and a memorable dinner/dance on Saturday evening, October 22nd, 6:30-11:00PM.
We started fresh with new proposals from six competing hotel properties and selected the Miami Airport Marriott for its best overall value. Located conveniently on LeJeune Road near State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway), the guest rooms and meeting space have been recently renovated. We are grateful for your patience and support. Despite the pandemic, we had only 5 registration cancellations. 108 guests remain for the Friday reception and 116 guests for the Saturday dinner and dance. We have 26 classmates who have asked us to keep them in the communications loop as prospective attendees.
If you are already registered for the weekend celebration, there is no increase in registration fees due to the delay. We are grateful that so many classmates registered at the early discounted rates. The current registration for the weekend activities remains at $175 per person.
We realize that some classmates, previously registered, may decide to cancel. We respect your decision and will offer a refund through May 1, 2022. If we refund your fees, we will deduct 5% of the fee to cover our administrative costs (credit card merchant fees, website maintenance, bank fees). If you hung out out with some of us, even if you didn't graduate in 1970 or from MHS, you are welcome. We might make fun of Coral Gables Cavaliers, because...well, you know. Check out the "Who's Going" page and encourage your buds to sign up too to enhance your experience.
We are putting together an USB Memory Stick that will contain a digitized copy of the 1970 Miahi, videos from previous reunions, and photos received from our classmates. Everyone attending the event will receive one. But, if you can't make it, we you can still get one. Go to Event Tickets and Donations to purchase one of these special USBs. Again, if you are attending, you will receive one as part of your package.
